Back to Work for The Office

According to Jenna Fisher’s blog, The Office goes back into production next week!

We start back to work on The Office the week of March 3rd. We are doing 6 episodes. The sixth will be an hour long finale. Our first episode back is The Dinner Party. Michael and Jan throw a dinner party for a few of the Dunder-Mifflin couples. It’s HILARIOUS. We had just started filming when we got shut down. I don’t know anything else from there. I’ll be curious to see how the writers condense the stories with only 6 episodes left this season.

Countdown to April 10th and fingers crossed for lots of Ed Helms/Andy Bernard when The Office is back!

Ed Helms at the Semi-Pro Movie Premiere

Check out these photos of Ed Helms at the Semi-Pro Premiere in Westwood on Tuesday (February 19) at the Mann Village Theater. That’s the director, Kent Alterman, posing with Ed in the photo below. The movie hits theaters this Friday, February 29th. Ed makes a brief appearance as “Turtleneck” according to IMDB and this interview. Will Farrell, Woody Harrelson and Andre Benjamin star in the movie, but Ed’s fellow Daily Show alum Robb Corddry and UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) buddies Matt Walsh and Brian Huskey also appear. To tell the you the truth, I’d rather see 90 minutes of Ed and Robb Corddry, but it’s still pretty awesome to see Ed appearing on the big screen.

It’s been a while since I found myself enjoying bluegrass music. I’ve always enjoyed folky stuff, but add Ed Helms vocals and I’m sold.

Check out this mp3 from Jacob Tilove of Lonesome Trio’s website. It’s called “All Gone to Hell”. I love the timbre of Ed’s voice — can’t wait to hear more.

Check out this video clip from a 12 episode series Ed made back in 2004! Ed plays “Ted”, the unfortunate dad of a spendthrift brood. Does anyone else find it funny that it looks like Ed would have had these children in Jr. High? (He was about 30 and the kids seem to be in high school…)

Ed Helms in Asssscat! DVD

According to Amazon, the newest DVD from The Upright Citizens Brigade featuring their long form improv show Asssscat! will be released March 25, 2008. You can preorder a copy now for a bit less than the list price ~~$14.99~~ $9.99. In addition to Ed Helms, it features Will Arnett, Ian Roberts, and a mess of other funny people.

Asssscat! is described as

Beginning with a suggestion from the audience, a guest monologist tells a story that kicks off a series of high-octane improvised sketches. From medical marijuana to embarrassing sexual encounters, no topic is off limits to the renegade performers who have helped make ASSSSCAT! one of the longest running improvisational shows in the history of the world.

According to this press release, the DVD was filmed during March of last year. Wish I had known! I would’ve loved to watch Ed live in this show!
